About IGNOU MAGPSOL – Master of Arts in Gandhi and Peace Studies (Online)
This postgraduate programme focuses on the life, philosophy, and methods of Mahatma Gandhi, specifically looking at non-violence and conflict resolution in the modern world. Successfully completing and submitting your Tutor Marked Assignments is a mandatory requirement to qualify for the Term End Examinations. Without these marks, your grade card will remain incomplete even if you pass the written theory papers.
IGNOU MAGPSOL Assignments Overview
For every student enrolled in the Master of Arts in Gandhi and Peace Studies (Online), assignments play a massive role in the final result. In the IGNOU marking system, these assignments carry a 30% weightage toward your total percentage. The remaining 70% comes from your theory exams. It is important to understand that you must score at least the minimum passing marks in these assignments separately to be declared successful in any specific course. These are officially known as Tutor Marked Assignments or TMAs.
Each course in the MAGPSOL curriculum requires one comprehensive assignment. If you are a first-year student, you will have a set of core courses to cover, and the same applies to the second year. Whether you are part of the January session or the July session, you must use the specific assignment question paper meant for 2026. Using an outdated question paper will lead to rejection, and you will have to rewrite the entire assignment from scratch. Always check the “validity” date printed on the first page of your assignment PDF to ensure it is current.
The assignments for the January session are usually meant for the December Term End Examination of 2026. Similarly, students from the July session are expected to submit their work by March or April for the June exams. If for any reason you are unable to submit your work on time or fail to appear for the exam, you do not need to worry about losing your admission. However, you will need to download the fresh assignments for the next session and submit them according to the new deadlines to remain eligible.
Academic integrity is very important in this online master’s programme. IGNOU requires all students to submit original, handwritten work. This means you cannot simply type out your answers on a computer and print them. You must read the study material provided to you, understand the Gandhian concepts, and then write the answers in your own words. Plagiarism—which means copying directly from books or the internet—is strictly discouraged. Your Study Centre coordinator will evaluate your work based on how well you have understood the subject and how clearly you have presented your thoughts.

How to Submit IGNOU MAGPSOL Assignments
The submission process starts with the physical preparation of your answer scripts. You should use standard A4 size ruled or plain paper to write your answers. On the very first page, which is the cover page, you must clearly mention your name, enrollment number, full address, programme code (MAGPSOL), course code, and the name of your Study Centre. This ensures that your marks are credited to the correct account without any technical delays. Group your pages together for each course separately; do not mix two different subjects in one bunch.
Since MAGPSOL is an online programme, your Regional Centre might provide a dedicated link or an email address for online submission. However, many centres still prefer physical submission at the Study Centre or via registered post. After you submit your work, always ask for an acknowledgment slip or a submission receipt. This receipt is your only proof of submission in case your marks are not updated on the IGNOU Grade Card portal after the results are announced.
Deadlines are a crucial part of the IGNOU calendar. For those appearing in the June TEE 2026, the last date to submit is generally the 31st of March or the 30th of April. For the December TEE 2026, the deadline usually falls between the 30th of September and the 31st of October. It is always wise to submit your work at least two weeks before the final date to avoid the last-minute rush at the Study Centre or server issues on the online portal.
