About IGNOU CFLOL – Certificate in French Language
This academic programme teaches students the basic skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in the French language for daily communication. Students learn essential vocabulary and grammar structures to interact in simple social and professional situations. Successfully completing and submitting your assignments on time is mandatory to qualify for the Term End Examination and earn your certificate.
IGNOU CFLOL Assignments Overview
For every student enrolled in the Certificate in French Language, assignments are a core part of the evaluation process. These assignments carry 30% weightage toward your final grade, while the remaining 70% comes from your written theory exams. You must submit all required assignments before the Term End Examination (TEE) to become eligible to sit for the exams. These are officially known as Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA), and they are designed to test your understanding of the course material provided by the university. Typically, for the CFLOL programme, there is one assignment for each course code included in the curriculum.
The university follows two admission cycles, and the validity of your assignments depends on whether you are in the January session or the July session. For the 2026 academic cycle, you must ensure you are working on the question paper that matches your specific session. If you are appearing for the June TEE 2026, you usually follow the January cycle papers, and for the December TEE 2026, you follow the July cycle. If a student misses the submission deadline for their current session, they are not allowed to appear for the exam and must download and submit the fresh assignments released for the next session.
IGNOU maintains a very strict policy regarding the authenticity of your work, which is why original handwritten work is required for every course. Plagiarism, which means copying answers directly from the study guide or from other students, is strictly prohibited and can lead to the rejection of your submission. Your marks are awarded by the Study Centre coordinator after a careful evaluation of your responses. These marks are then sent to the Regional Centre to be updated on your official grade card. Quality work that shows your own understanding of the French language will always help you secure higher marks in the internal assessment.

How to Submit IGNOU CFLOL Assignments
The submission process starts with preparing your answer sheets properly using plain A4 size paper or ruled paper. You must write every answer by hand using a blue or black pen; do not use a computer to type your responses. You need to fill out the cover page accurately with your enrollment number, name, programme code, course code, and study centre code. Once finished, arrange your answer sheets in the correct sequence according to the question paper and secure them together with a thread or a folder.
Depending on the guidelines issued by your specific Regional Centre, you may need to perform a physical submission at your Study Centre or an online submission via a dedicated portal or Google Form. After submitting your work in person, always make sure to collect the submission receipt from the office as proof of delivery. You can check if your marks are updated on the IGNOU portal by visiting the Grade Card or Assignment Status section after a few months of submission. Keeping a photocopy of your completed assignments is always a good idea for your own records.
For students appearing in the June TEE 2026, the deadline is typically in the months of March or April. For those appearing in the December TEE 2026, the deadline is usually in September or October. These dates are often extended by the university, but it is best to complete your work early to avoid last-minute rushes. Always keep an eye on the official announcements from the university regarding date extensions for the 2026 sessions.
