About IGNOU DIRIL – Diploma in Retailing
This course teaches you how modern shops, supermarkets, and online stores manage their daily business and keep customers happy. It prepares you for practical work on the shop floor, handling stock, and talking to shoppers in the organized retail industry.
Who Should Choose This Programme?
If you have just finished school and want to start working at big stores like Reliance Retail, Big Bazaar, or Shoppers Stop, this course is for you. It is also perfect for people already working as sales girls or boys who want a certificate to get promoted to supervisor roles. If you want to understand how items reach the shelf and why customers buy certain things, this is the right choice.
Why Do Students Choose This Programme?
Most students pick this because it is much cheaper than doing a retail course at a private institute and the IGNOU certificate is valid for all government and private jobs. You can keep working at your current job while studying because there are no daily classes to attend. Another big reason is that if you finish this diploma, you can directly enter the second year of the BBA in Retailing degree later.
Where Does This Programme Help?
After finishing DIRIL, you can find work in shopping malls, department stores, or even warehouse offices for online apps like Amazon and Blinkit. Graduates usually get jobs as Retail Sales Associates, Floor Supervisors, or Billing Executives in big cities and smaller towns. It helps you get hired by professional retail chains that prefer trained staff over untrained workers for managing their inventory and cash counters.
