About IGNOU MAGD – M.A. (Gender and Development Studies)
This master’s programme provides an in-depth understanding of gender issues and their integration into development policies and practices. Completing and submitting your assignments is a compulsory requirement to qualify for the Term End Examination (TEE). Without successful assignment submission, your final results will remain incomplete on the grade card.
IGNOU MAGD Assignments Overview
For every student enrolled in the M.A. (Gender and Development Studies) programme, assignments play a critical role in the final evaluation process. These assignments carry a significant weightage of 30% toward your overall grade, while the remaining 70% comes from the theory exams. You must submit all required assignments before the Term End Examination (TEE) begins to ensure you are eligible to appear for the papers. Each course in the MAGD curriculum requires one Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA) which is evaluated by experts at your Study Centre.
The university follows two admission cycles: January and July. Depending on when you enrolled, you must download the specific assignment sets for the 2026 academic cycle. For example, if you are planning to appear for the June TEE 2026, you must use the assignments valid for that session. Similarly, those appearing in the December TEE 2026 must follow the corresponding set. If a student fails to submit their work within the valid period for 2026, they will need to download and solve the new set of assignments for the subsequent session.
IGNOU maintains strict academic standards regarding the quality of your submissions. Every assignment must be handwritten by the student personally; printed or typed versions are not accepted and will likely be rejected. Plagiarism, which means copying answers directly from study materials, internet sources, or other students, is strictly forbidden. Your Study Centre coordinator will award marks based on how well you have understood the concepts and expressed them in your own words. These marks are then forwarded to the Regional Centre to be updated on your official portal.

How to Submit IGNOU MAGD Assignments
Preparing your submission requires careful organization. Start by writing your answers on A4 size ruled or plain paper, ensuring your handwriting is neat and legible. Each course assignment must have its own dedicated set of pages. You must also include a cover page for every subject that clearly mentions your enrollment number, name, programme code (MAGD), course code, and your assigned Study Centre code. Arrange all the answer sheets in the correct sequence according to the question paper before final binding.
There are generally two ways to submit your work: physical submission or online submission. For physical submission, visit your Study Centre in person and hand over your files. Always remember to collect a submission receipt from the office as proof of delivery. Some Regional Centres also provide an online portal or Google Form link for digital submission where you upload scanned PDFs. You should monitor your assignment status online to confirm that your marks are updated on the IGNOU website after the evaluation period is over.
The deadlines for submission are strictly tied to the exam sessions. For the June TEE 2026, the deadline is typically in March or April. For the December TEE 2026, the submission window usually closes around September or October. It is always best to submit your work at least two weeks before the official last date to avoid any last-minute technical or logistical issues at the Study Centre.
