About IGNOU PGDSLM – Post Graduate Diploma in School Leadership and Management
This specialized programme focuses on developing managerial and leadership skills among school heads and teachers to improve institutional efficiency. Completing and submitting assignments on time is mandatory because they act as a continuous evaluation tool that prepares you for the complex theoretical and practical aspects of school administration. Without successful submission, you will not be permitted to appear for the final examinations, which could delay your professional certification.
IGNOU PGDSLM Assignments Overview
The internal assessment through assignments carries a significant 30% weightage toward the final grade in each course. To successfully complete the Post Graduate Diploma in School Leadership and Management, students must submit one Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA) for every individual course in the curriculum. These assignments are designed to test your understanding of the study material and your ability to apply leadership concepts in a school setting. You must achieve at least the minimum passing marks in these assignments to be declared successful in the respective course. Failing to submit these tasks before the Term End Examination (TEE) will make you ineligible to sit for the exams.
IGNOU follows a dual-session cycle, and the assignments are released separately for the January and July academic sessions. For the 2026 academic cycle, you must ensure you are working on the question paper that is specifically valid for your admission batch. Usually, an assignment remains valid for one full year or two exam cycles (June and December). If you miss the deadline for the current session, the assignment becomes invalid, and you will be required to download the fresh set of questions released for the next session to remain compliant with university rules.
Every student is expected to provide original, handwritten work rather than typed or photocopied material. Plagiarism, which means copying answers directly from the books or from other students’ work, is strictly prohibited by the university. If your Study Centre coordinator finds that your answers are not original, your marks may be withheld or your assignment may be rejected. The marks awarded by the evaluator at your Study Centre are eventually uploaded to the official Grade Card on the main university portal after the evaluation process is complete.

Students can easily download the latest PDF files for their respective courses for the 2026 session from the centralized repository. It is very important to check the “Valid For” dates mentioned on the first page of the assignment booklet to ensure you are solving the correct questions. If you find that the PDF for a specific course has not been updated yet, please wait for a few days as the university uploads them in a phased manner throughout the semester.

How to Submit IGNOU PGDSLM Assignments
To prepare your submission, you must write all answers by hand on plain A4 size paper or ruled foolscap paper. The first page of your file must be the cover page containing your name, enrollment number, full address, programme code (PGDSLM), and your study centre code. It is helpful to use a fresh page for every new question and maintain a margin on the left side of the paper for teacher comments. Once finished, arrange all the answer sheets in the correct sequence as per the question paper before staple or binding them.
Depending on the instructions issued by your Regional Centre, you may need to submit your work physically at your allotted Study Centre or upload a scanned copy through an online portal. If you are submitting offline, always ask for a written receipt or an acknowledgment slip from the coordinator for your records. This receipt is your only proof of submission in case your marks are not updated on the online portal within the expected timeframe. For online submissions, keep the original hard copies safe until your results are finally declared in the grade card.
For students appearing in the June TEE, the deadline to submit the assignments is typically the end of March or April in 2026. For those appearing in the December TEE, the deadline is generally the end of September or October in 2026. However, these dates are often extended by the university via official notifications, so it is wise to keep checking the main website. Early submission is always recommended to avoid the last-minute rush at the Study Centres.
